An iconic work of architecture erected to commemorate and celebrate the discovery of life on Europa, the icy moon of Jupiter. The discovery of life outside of Earth is a momentous event with profound implications. It exhibits a small specimen fossil that has been retrieved and brought back to Earth from Europa; its appearance is that of an early Earth life-form, such as the trilobite. Only a small group of visitors may view the exhibit at any time, allowing for a more intimate personal viewing. Inspired by the site location and Boullee Cenotaph for Sir Isaac Newton, the site sits on the Adler Planetarium in Chicago, designed by Ernest Grunsfeld, Jr.
